FIVES WILD
Fives Wild now has a new name, Gambit, and a new life! From the race track, he tried polo but didn’t like the mallet. Now he is a hunter/jumper and enjoys fun family days.
It was time for a professional polo player to get fresh, new and young polo ponies to sharpen up his string. Piccachu, Nutria and Taebo had been turned out for years. One of those three was very well bred and had a few babies the past few years. 10 years ago, Taebo, the gelding was best playing pony in high goal tournaments under a high goal hall of fame polo player.
It was in this polo payer’s heart for part of his team/string to stay together and find a new purpose in life. A loving family from Tennessee took them in with loving arms. Now they are cared for daily and ridden in wide open spaces a few times a month enjoying the scenic route.
Hollis aka Holy Path, her registered name through Jockey Club, was retired from polo because she was bothered on the field one too many times, so it was time to find her a new way of life.
Hollis lives at my small farm in Ocean Springs, MS. It is basically a backyard barn close to town. Hollis was an experienced polo horse so she was already trained with the skill set needed to play polocrosse.
Most days she enjoys about 12 hrs of turnout with two other horses She is ridden 2-3 times a week and gets ground work 1-2 times a week.
Hollis needed a lot of relaxing ground work with change of bit to simmer down her mind. Her owner has goals to play mid-grade polocrosse on Hollis and get a little more serious about endurance riding since she is also a great trail horse.
ADOPTED Dos Equis’ success story!
He took the founder of ReplayPolo to her first hunter/jumper show after her traumatic accident almost 5yrs ago.
It was a great accomplishment for both and they got a ribbon!
2 days later Dos Equis was adopted by a warm loving family in Dickson, TN.
His new job is all round local horse-shows and trail rides.
Healing Hooves Psychotherapy Inc. has adopted Ferrari.
Healing Hooves is, a PATH Center, PATH Intl ESMHL, and Natural Lifemanship TF-EAP in Southwest Ranches, Florida. Ferrari, now named Charlie, has been a wonderful addition to their herd. Healing Hooves team felt that the name Charlie fit him well due to his chestnut coat and soft brown eyes. The director stated, “A friend shared a post she had found online of Charlie and we were shocked to find he was located just a few miles from us. Our team made a visit and quickly fell in love with his calm demeanor.” ReplayPolo and his former owner knew he would make the perfect therapy horse for Healing Hooves.
The director shares a great story about Charlie:
“Charlie is the first one we hear in the morning as we start to feed. He makes the whole barn aware that he has not eaten breakfast yet. He has adjusted well to the routine of the barn and enjoys afternoons grazing with different members of the herd. Charlie has been a part of several equine-assisted activities including mounted, grooming, bathing, and round pen work. Charlie is a barn favorite and often offers a knicker to members of our team. Our hope is Charlie will continue to put on weight and return to full health. Our desire is for Charlie to continue to be apart of the work we are doing to reconnect people with themselves and the relationships they value most. We love him and are so honored to be Charlie’s forever home.”
Fresa retired from high goal polo due to a suspensory injury. She was fed well and turned out for a year. Fortunately she healed! Yet her hooves were extremely over grown causing her to be lame.
ReplayPolo was finally called upon to get her adopted to find a happily ever after home with a loving family. First thing, an amazing farrier Chuy Garcia, came out to fix her. She did get all 4 shoes to set her up right. Then she started going on hour long walks. A month later, she only needed 2 front shoes, then started to trot and canter under saddle.
Now she lives with the sweetest family, giving tons of care to all of their animals. They also have two miniature ponies, and another retired polo gelding.
Fresa has a leisure job of trail riding and flatwork in the ring.
Fives Wild now has a new name, Gambit, and a new life! From the race track, he tried polo but didn’t like the mallet. Now he is a hunter/jumper and enjoys fun family days.
The loving story from the girl that owns her Kamcia now…
“I had never imagined that coming home from a trip to Universal with a friend would hold such an amazing surprise. My dad had told me that he had a surprise for me, but i never in a million years thought it would be such an amazing horse. When he showed me the picture, I had the world’s biggest smile on my face. The next day when I went to meet her, right when I saw her, I knew I would love her forever, and well… I was completely right! Unfortunately 9 days after we got her, she had a terrible accident. But she is completely recovered now and I couldn’t be more grateful. She is now living her best life, she loves to jump (at her very speedy paste lol), she loves the love and attention we give her. Overall, I am sure she is very happy. Of course, we both have good and bad days, some days I feel like giving up, but maybe the next day I feel like the most accomplished person in the world; that is what riding is about. I am so incredibly grateful to have her.”
Hozh’q was a patron’s medium goal polo pony and now she joined a new family! The mother, father and children are learning to be equestrians and Hozh’q is honored to teach them. Especially since the father is a veteran and Hozh’q is paying it forward in a therapeutic way.
Que Pasa was a patron’s high goal pony. She has been adopted by a new mother who loves her dearly and helps her do farm work. Que Pasa goes on many trail rides and has adapted beautifully to natural horsemanship traits.
Pacha could never be ridden again due to his age and his back had given out. He was adopted by a loving family where he was an unmounted therapy horse. He helped senior citizens and veterans to help with emotional stability. Pacha lived out his last day on earth with this family and now rests in peace.
Estrella retired from polo because she deserved a happy retirement due to age. Now she is little girl’s new best friend to trail ride and have fun.
Noviembre’s goal is for her to be a broodmare and continue her rehab. If we feel she is sound enough to play polo cross we may play her in the future, a couple of years away. She currently is turned out in a 13-acre field with our 4 other broodmares. She is brought in each AM and PM for feeding and her rehab. Because of her rehab, she doesn’t really have a job right now other than to get better. She is so sweet and easy to handle. Very laid back.
Welcome Home Nancy
Andre Andrews announces: “I would love to introduce you all to Nancy. She is Ronald Reagan-Palisades Post 283, in Hollywood, CA, new family member and dedicated therapy pony. I want to first give thanks to Brittany Halstead of ReplayPolo 501C3 Organization. She has some of the best trained horses in the country and she was instrumental on making this all happen via Santa Barbra Polo Club. Thank you Darrell Kieth Harris of Dark Horse Ranch, for allowing us to have our program ran and operated from your ranch. Commander J.l. Romano your leadership is paramount and for that I thank you.”
We are delighted that Cupcake has found her new owner and is paying it forward in a therapeutic way. Cupcakes’s mother has a kind note to share about Cupcake…
After an equine related injury, I didn’t think I wanted another horse. I was going to take lessons and thought that would be enough. With a love for horses, that wasn’t enough. I worked with Brittany, tried a few horses and was set on what I wanted – a horse under 12 years of age and over 16.1 hands. Lucky for me, Cupcake, a 19-year-old, 15.2 hand, sweetheart, came along and changed all those ideas of what I wanted. Cupcake has given me what I needed and has no idea that she is 19 years old or only 15.2 hands. After owning her for four (4) months, I cannot wait to see what the future brings us!
Ollie’s new owner at Morningstar Stables States, “Ollie has helped so many people since she has been with me. Young, old, some with physical challenges, veterans suffering from ptsd. She has helped with therapeutic riding, typical riding and Equine Assisted Learning. She seems to love her job. She has the stamina for a young rider to learn to post the trot with a steady gait or the gentleness for a little one to start learning how to balance and have good equitation. She has the same steadiness for a young mom with MS and a grandma who battled cancer and now has one hip. They both are able to ride her independently. She is patient, very responsive and her riders learn to care about what she is feeling from them because she will do what their bodies ask. When they learn to relax, she will reward them with a steady gait, walking or trotting. They can speed her up or slow her down while they learn body awareness and also empathy for
their loyal little horse. She never says no but I also let her know I will listen to and consider her feelings when she has concerns. Everyone who meets her falls in love with her gentle spirit. She speaks for herself, I don’t have to say a word ”
Anastasia 4yr mare decided polo was not her sport but is learning to teach students how to become a proper equestrian. Her new owner says, “She has been one of the easiest horses to work with. Instant farm favorite. She’s really learned what her back muscles can accomplish and has a really nice stretch.
Honestly, I need 10 more like her.”
The new owner of Viva La Reina States, “I was not expecting to get a horse anytime soon. I had been leasing a horse for a month, when my friend mentioned have you considered ever getting your own horse? I said, maybe? She introduced me to Britany and Replay Polo. I met Britany only a few times before she sent me over a text message saying “I’ve found your horse”- At first, I was hesitant and didn’t completely agree. I can now say after a few moments of shaky knees from the depths of my heart she was in fact correct. She found my horse. I have had Viva La Reina now for over a month and I couldn’t be happier with her disposition, temperament, mind, and her performance under the saddle. She is a true gem. With Replay Polo and Britany’s suggestion we plan to work with her from the ground up transforming her into a winner at the Thoroughbred make-over in Lexington Kentucky. If there is any horse that is capable of such an accomplishment, it’s Viva La Reina. Thank you for finding me “My horse” So grateful! I would like to add if anyone is considering a Replay polo pony or Retrack OTTB- look no further with Replay, your horse awaits you!”
My nine-year-old daughter re-inspired my childhood love for horses. It was as if she had given me the permission to dream again of owning a horse. We began studying and reading about caring for horses together and took riding lessons. In our search for our first horse, we were connected to the Replay Polo organization and knew after speaking with Brittany, this was going to be a great fit.
Our family is very fond of the sport of polo. These ponies are so impressive not only by their strength, but how well trained they need to be to excel with the athletes who ride. One of things we were searching for in our first horse was one to be patient and not easily spooked. As beginning riders, Brittany paired us perfectly with our sweet guy, Django. He is as sweet as can be and such a gentleman as we learn all the basics of properly caring for a horse. He has already taught us so much and he is loved and adored by our whole family.
Django loves his carrots and to be groomed by the children. Everyone loves him. He’s so gentle and has brought the kids much more confidence around horses. They get right to work caring for him and doing barn chores. It’s something they look forward to and have taken pride in doing. My daughter is so proud of Django and loves to ride any chance she gets. When she can’t ride, she spends her time just being with him and talking to him. They’ve formed such a beautiful friendship.
Giving the reality of this dream to my daughter is beyond words to express. We are just so grateful for Brittany and Replay Polo for connecting us to such a sweet guy, and this incredible life of horse ownership.

Coachina found her new purpose of life; after she retired from low-goal polo. Coachina has a new name that suits her better, a more glamorous touch… CHEENA! Now she is living in Wellington, FL with the Gannon family. Tim Gannon is the Chairman of the National Polo Club https://ipc.coth.com…. The Gannon’s had one retired polo pony, Spirit, that needed a girlfriend. Spirit probably will never be ridden again due to a serious knee injury. Plus they wanted to add a new addition to the family. Every morning, Shannon goes out to feed them and give them their TLC. Midday they receive a carrot through the kitchen window; they get a cool breeze from the A/C too. A few times a week Cheena is ridden, teaching Shannon how to become an equestrian with exquisite equitation skills. At night, Cheena and Spirit are tucked into bed wishing them sweet dreams. It is very therapeutic for friends and family to understand/respect the horses’ needs to live a wonderful life. Cheena will be the best instructor, with guidance from Brittany Halstead. Horse family days at the Gannon’s house are full of love.
Seven months later… Spirit seemed to be feeling good, the way he runs around the paddock when his girlfriend is out in the ring working. He had not been ridden in a year and a half. But Brittany Halstead asked if he has ever been X-rayed and diagnosed by a vet? The Gannon’s said, No, but let’s have the vet assess him and see if he can go on trial rides with Cheena. Charley McColough from Palm Beach Equine Clinic came out to assess him. He asked Brittany to ride him. She got on him and he was perfect, like he hadn’t missed a day out of the saddle. His trot and canter were sound. Palm Beach Equine vet, Charley McColough, X-rayed him, he has significant arthritis and a small loose bone fragment. Charley injected him with Triamcinolone (corticosteroid) and Noltrex (polyacrylamide hydrogel). He is now being ridden with Cheena a few times a week. It seems like the love Cheena and Spirit have for each other helped Spirit heal.
